Safety and Materials: Bunnies

Wood

When crafting our rabbit furniture and toys, we prioritize the use of safe and bunny-friendly materials, including kiln-dried pine, poplar, and birch. We personally source and verify the safety of these woods to ensure that they do not pose any health concerns for the bunnies that will be interacting with, chewing, and potentially ingesting the materials we use.

Glue

We employ non-toxic wood glue to assemble our rabbit furnishings. Additionally, we take the extra step of laminating all panels in-house, rather than purchasing pre-made panels that may potentially contain toxic glues from unknown processing methods.

Fasteners

To ensure the integrity and safety of our rabbit furniture, we use wooden dowels for securing all components, avoiding the use of screws or nails. This deliberate choice means that if your bunny is prone to chewing, they won't encounter any potentially harmful metal pieces throughout the lifespan of the furniture. Our commitment to wooden dowels not only enhances the safety of our products but also contributes to their longevity. You can easily refinish your furniture and toys over time with just a bit of sandpaper, providing lasting joy for your bunnies. In instances where metal parts, such as hinges and hardware, are used, we carefully consider their placement, prioritizing your bunnies' safety at every step.

Finish

For all our rabbit furniture products, we exclusively apply Osmo Hardwax Oil as the finish (note: we do not finish bunny toys). This particular finish is not only animal and child-safe but also boasts a proven track record for providing excellent protection to your furniture. It ensures the longevity of your products, allowing you to enjoy them for an extended period.
